Anachronistic Code Books

Dwayne James is a local author and artist with a fantastic imagination. His creative and whimsical mind has conjured some seriously impressive artwork; His writings are anything but boring and mundane.

The Anachronistic Code is a time-travel mystery series that is projected to be seven books long. He's well past the halfway point (having finished five books), and has the final two all plotted out and is currently in the process of writing them. 

" It is April 1985, and seventeen-year-old Josh Donegal has just woken up. Now, normally, this wouldn’t be all that unusual, but when Josh went to sleep last night, it was 2035, and he was making the best of a dystopian existence in the wake of an unimaginable global catastrophe.

As Josh readjusts to being a teenager in the 80s again, he notices that things are not exactly the same this time. There are words out of place in the pop culture of the day. Words that form a message that just might be what he needs to keep that awful future from happening again."

The Anachronistic Code is told in dual narratives, each one set in a different era. In one time stream, Josh remembers what life will be like under authoritarian rule in 2035. In the other, Josh tries to acclimatize to life in 1985, even as he decodes a mysterious message that tells him to follow clues, the first of which is hidden in the shadow of a legendary oak.

This series is recommended for both teens and adults and is full of Canadian history, 80's pop culture references, and our Beloved Bluenose will play a role in the escape plan currently being written for the sixth book.
